Scoala de Sustenabilitate - Educational Project

Școala de sustenabilitate is an educational project aimed at high school students in Romania, through which they have access to clear and reliable information about the effects that their food choices have on animals, nature, and their own health.

The program is carried out by supporting lessons in schools throughout Romania, followed by discussions on the topics covered, and informative materials (brochures) are provided to the students to supplement, clarify and summarize the new information presented to them.

We loved working with F.R.E.E. Association, passionate Romanian nonprofit, working tirelessly to create a better world for animals. They approached us with a clear and important mission: designing a logo for their educational project, Școala de sustenabilitate. We knew this was a unique opportunity to create something that would help spread their message of sustainability and respect for animals to high school students in Romania. Our goal was to design a logo that would appeal to both young students and adults, and convey the values of the project in a friendly and fresh way.

We started with over 10 ideas before landing on the perfect symbol: an open book with three leaves growing from its spine. We used a monoline contour to give the logo a clean, modern look. To make it visually appealing, we followed geometrical shapes while making the contour, giving it a fresh and new feel. We chose a sans serif font to go with the logo mark to make it readable and friendly.

We chose the symbol of an open book with leaves growing from its spine because it represents growth, knowledge, and sustainability, which are all central themes of The Sustainability School project. While the book and leaves are commonly used symbols in educational logos, we wanted to approach it in a fresh and unique way. We experimented with different ways to incorporate the book and leaves into a monoline contour design, with the goal of creating a visually appealing and memorable logo that stands out from other educational logos.

Through our creative process, we found that the simplicity of the book and leaves allowed for endless possibilities in terms of design and color, which enabled us to make it more unique and personalized to the F.R.E.E. Association’s brand. The offset green color of the leaves, for example, adds a touch of playfulness and interest to the logo while still maintaining a clean and professional look. By combining traditional symbols with a modern approach, we were able to create a logo that is timeless and versatile, and that effectively represents the values and mission of The Sustainability School project.
