Colorful Illustrations and Storytelling Magic | Atelier Enot
Working with both Grădina cu Oameni and Greenpeace was a privilege for us. We were thrilled to work on a project that aimed to spread awareness about wildlife preservation. Grădina cu Oameni requested 3 illustrations that would be screenprinted on totebags. We carefully chose the crested newt, a common species of cicada and cone-headed greenhopper, all found in the beautiful Cismigiu Gardens.
In our design approach, we sought to use flat colors easy to screenprint, masked with textures to seamlessly integrate the illustrations with the canvas material. We chose a color palette that reflected the park’s lush greenery, using warm yellows and dark greens, royal blues and lime greens, and deep browns and turquoise. We were confident that this approach would help bring the illustrations to life and evoke a sense of the natural world, encouraging park visitors to take an active role in wildlife preservation.
Following this successful collaboration, Greenpeace reached out to us with a similar request, this time featuring an illustrated European shag to be screenprinted on totebags as part of their project to fight against the use of plastic. We were proud to continue our efforts to promote environmental conservation, and used the same design approach to create a striking, eye-catching illustration that reflected the beauty and importance of our oceans and marine life.
